You can help advance vaccine research
Who can sign up?
Everyone above the age of 18 years can sign up. Children can be signed up by their guardians. You can be vaccinated or unvaccinated, and it makes no difference if you have previously had COVID-19.
How does it work?
When you register, provide your age, any underlying illnesses, your region, and travel distance for study participation. If a future study matches your profile, you'll be contacted via email. You decide whether to contact the study organizers and participate. Like all clinical studies, you have the right to withdraw at any time without giving a reason.
Which studies can I take part in?
The volunteer registry aims to facilitate clinical trials where the effectiveness of a new or modified vaccine needs to be studied on larger groups of people. All studies in the registry are in phase 2 or 3, meaning they have already undergone the initial safety phase, phase 1, involving a smaller number of individuals.
The studies are conducted by university hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, or academic institutions.
Who is responsible for the research data from the studies?
The responsibility for the personal information and data used in the study always lies with the research sponsor of the study. It is usually a university or university hospital, but it can also be a municipality or a company.
If you choose to contact the organizers of the study you are interested in, you will always receive more information about the study and who the research sponsor is. You should also be informed about how you can access your own or the entire study's results once the study is completed.
Can I leave the volunteer registry after I have already registered?
Yes, you send an email to impfstudien-corona@uk-koeln.de and request the permanent deletion of your information.
